The CESCIL Podcast

CescilCecilia_PassingStar_Art

The CESCIL Podcast shares stories from people across emergency services about their work, their ideas, and what they’re learning: what they tried, what worked, what didn't, and what they learned along the way.

Why this podcast?

In conversations across the sector, we kept hearing the same wish: to see how others do this work. Good ideas exist across the country, but they rarely travel far, and there are few chances to hear what the work is really like in another role, organization, or region.

The podcast brings those stories into the open. Many episodes look not only at projects and initiatives, but at the building blocks behind them - things like relationships, timing, and support, including what got in the way. Listeners will hear stories across contexts, and may consider what could be helpful to bring back to where they are.

What you'll hear

  • Stories of better ways of doing things: practitioners describing a project or initiative, what made it possible, and what didn't go to plan
  • The human side of the work: what it's actually like to do this work
  • Conversations across boundaries: voices from different roles, disciplines, and geographies, looking at shared challenges from different perspectives

We value honest stories over polished ones. The most useful stories include what made things work, and what was hard along the way.

Share a story or idea

Have you been part of a new approach, or seen a better way of doing things that's worth sharing? Is there something you've always wondered about how the work gets done elsewhere? We'd love to hear from you.

We invite guests from every level of the sector, not just senior leaders. If you know something that could help others in this work, consider sharing it with us. Share a story.
